I have 10 looking for 20...

Saturday night we went to the church auction, there were some neat things.
we ended up buying several things.
Chris got a "lap desk"

I loved this Fish,it is a print, but a very nice one. I think it will look great framed!

and this chaise is really comfy.

we also bought a sideboard- but it is not here yet, so I do not have photos.- everything was a good deal and we had a fun time.

Nell was funny, she was calling the bags bracelets and walking around with them on her arms

Nell and Zaven enjoying their poptarts.

when we got home from Church, Zaven wanted to have a beach party, so we got out his ocean sheets and he and Nell are here on the beach

Later Nell set up a picnic for and on Chris.

Tomorrow I will deal with the insurance stuff.

wrecked

last night on my way home from work, as I was about to turn onto the road where Nell's school is, a girl hit me from behind.

i was stopped and she was going about 40 and never hit the brakes.

I am fine.
The guy at the junk yard said he thought the prius was totaled.

Here are the pics. the back windows are broken out.

trick or treat

we had a great halloween,
the weather was nice, we all got home and got the kids into their costumes.
zaven's rockstar hair was hard to achieve, but there was plenty of gel and it was messy and sticking up in some places- he said he liked it, he had on his "tatoo" shirt, jeans and his cardboard cut-out guitar.

nell's frog zip on costume was easier- though getting her to say ribbit instead of wonk wonk when you ask her "what does a frog say?" is another story.

we went over for dinner and trick or treating at a friends house. they have a great neighborhood, a horse shoe shape with good spacing, almost no cars, nice people, and enough houses to get the kids enough candy without being gone for too long.

a nice treat was that we got to go trick or treating at the Snydacker/Ullman house and Ben and Caitlin were home for the weekend. the kids were happy to see them.
by the end of the night nell was saying "froggy go night night"

nell continues to be very funny. her new thing is when you ask her something she says "yeah mmmhmm, yeah" and nods her head. she also has a little bendy figure that she calls "my guy" and when she can't find him she goes around saying "where's my guy?" and then she gets him and bends him and says "Nell's 'former" which means Nell's transformer- she longs to be just like Zaven.

she is getting pretty independent, she will go and look for "her guy" upstairs, today she played in the backyard by herself for a little while- she thought Zaven was going to come but he was watching football.

saturday was zaven's last soccer game. he scored 2 (or 3-if you ask him) goals and no one scored on him while he was goalie.

we went to eat at a diner - came home for nell's nap. after that i took the kids to the grocery and then we had alive at 5.

then last night i must say- i became a believer in standard time! i loved moving the clock back to 10:15 and knowing the alarm was set for 6:15- 8 hours of sleep! are you kidding.
and it actually worked out. the kids slept and i was very happy.

today, there was a church breakfast so we got up and went to that. then we ran an errand during church and then zaven wanted to go back to play with grace after church, so we did that.
then during nell's nap today, zaven and i went to the middle school and played football, basketball and soccer.
we were there for about an hour and a half, it was fun.

i made beef stew for dinner, it turned out well. zaven enjoyed it. nell, however, did not.
can't please everyone all the time, i guess.

back to work tomorrow.

boo!

tonight as we were turning into the driveway, Zaven said "why didn't we carve pumpkins?"
i said, "let's go get some and do it" and we backed out and went to sweet berry farm.
zaven got a wheel barrow - and we went and looked at the really big pumpkins.
we decided they were too big.
rolled the wheel barrow back over to the smaller pumpkins, weighed a few on the scale there.
zaven chose a 3 pounder for himself and a 2 pounder for nell.

we came home, zaven drew a face on his, we scooped out the insides and carved his pumpkin, in time to put a candle in it and put it outside for chris to see when he got home.

it was a really nice evening.

sadly i now realize that i failed to take any pictures of the kids with ella and spencer during their fun visit this weekend.
we really loved having them here.

Nice Weekend

I had a long day at the printer on Friday- doing press approvals.
At one point it looked like I was going to be doing the same thing on Saturday, But the printer decided not to do that and I will go back tomorrow for 5 more approvals- keep your finger crossed that they all go smoothly.

Chris handled picking up Nell and Zaven went to the Halloween party at his school with Gracie- they had a great time.

Saturday morning Zaven had a soccer game. There were just three kids from his team that showed up to play.
They still had a great game. Zaven and Kyle scored several goals and had fun.
We grabbed some lunch before coming home.
Once here Nell and I took a nap. Something I almost never do- but I needed it!

When Nell woke up it was off to Chuck E Cheese.
Zaven stayed on "green behavior" all week and that was his reward.

We had a great time.
There was Skee Ball, Basketball, Hit the Gopher, slides and more!
Chris and I were relieved to hear that Zaven did not think that we needed to eat there - so we did not!

After playing for a long time we left and went to dinner at Ted's, tasty as usual.

It was a great day.
Today was a nice day at church- a good crowd.
I have been to the grocery and Nell is napping, Zaven has been watching football and Chris just left to go to a celebration of new ministry in Tiverton.

I think the kids and I may go to the bookstore in a little while.

Nell has an affinity for being on the table, here are a couple of photos of her doing that.

Have a great week.

long weekend

we are so glad that this is a long weekend.
the weather has been great.
we have enjoyed a nice family weekend.
friday was my birthday- chris saw to getting me a cake- very yummy.

i took this picture of Zaven while we waited for the cake,
he looks so grown up i can barely stand it.

Nell and Zaven rub noses.

Nell and "my daddy" watching Zaven's soccer game on Saturday morning.

Zaven had another great game. Scored 4 goals and was a goalie for a while and did not have any goals scored on him.

Caitlin and Ben came and watched the game, it was really fun to see them.
Nell acted very shy, but later I asked her if she haad likes seeing Ben and Caitlin and she said " my Ben and KitKat" I take that as a yes. It was great seeing them again!

2 days with Nell

Nell has been out of school since mid day Monday- due to icky diapers.
That is the bad news.
The good news is, she has been feeling well enough to be her fun cute self.
Chris picked her up early Monday and I stayed home with her Tuesday and today.
I was able to do a lot of work from home, but I enjoyed some time playing with Nell too.

She is very funny.
We did a lot of counting today. And when we were not counting together she was counting by herself.
"Seven, Eight, Seven, Eight, Seven Eight" seemed to be her favorite combination.
She is also liking me singing the alphabet song.

She is talking so much now and says some really funny things.
She says "I see that Daddy" which means, I want to see Daddy.
Or tonight before I took her up to bed she said "I kiss that Daddy" and then after that she said "I kiss that Zavi"
She likes to see Zaven get on the bus each morning.
I think that she has missed singing some of the songs from school these last couple of days. She kept asking me to sing the Sun song, and I do not know a sun song...and then she would sing a little and do some hand motions. I will ask the teachers tomorrow, so I can learn it too.

Zaven is doing well in school, he is learning a lot. They do a lot of writing and pre reading.
Math, science etc. He seems to be soaking a lot of it up.

Chris is doing well, staying busy. Two funerals this week and two weddings this weekend and the Saturday service.

My work is going well. It is busy, but good.

It has been very rainy lately, hopefully that will pass.
