Girls day

Last night at the swim banquet Nell was excited to get her first trophy, ever!
Today we had a girls day. We got some things done around the house and then went to the museum here in CW. It was fun. We did some drawing. We saw the quilt exhibit. We saw a new textiles exhibit with lots of beautiful embroidery. We rode the bus. And we made plans for a playdate tomorrow.

The river with Isabel

No surprise, we had a great time at the river with Isabel. We drove over after church.
We got there in time to do some tubing and playing in the water. Then we showered in the outdoor shower and got ready for dinner. Isabel had her brother, Latane, her nephew and his wife, Latane and Randle, and her cousin Betty Berle and Norman. We fed the kids early and then Nell watched a movie and Esmé went to bed. It was a great evening. Such nice and interesting people and a delicious meal.
This morning the girls got up about 6:30 and we enjoyed a beautiful morning. Then Isabel made us French toast and we played some more in te water, had lunch, Nell and Chris went tubing and now we are headed for Williamsburg. Tonight is the swim team banquet. We are sorry Zav is not here. But he is having a great time in Chattanooga. Word has it they kids did the ropes corse today, can't wait to hear about that!

On and on

A busy week for sure. Poor Esmé had a fall out of our bed and bonked her head. She is ok but sporting a big lump and a scratch.

Nell had a performance at the end of her ballet. It was great. They did tap and ballet and jazz. She did a wonderful job. I think she will stay on with Ms Adelle in the fall.

Zaven took his first solo airplane ride down to Nashville. All went well and he is safe and sound with Milla enjoying his cousins etc. we miss him!

After dropping him off Chris, Nell, Esmé and I walked to the farmers market for some peaches. Then we had lunch and naps and went to the pool before getting dinner at Cracker
barrel.
This morning we had a good time at church and are now headed to see Isabel at the river.

Haircuts

Nell and Zaven both got haircuts today. Zaven went to see Claudia at Roccoco Salon. Nell, on the other hand, gave herself her haircut, ugh. Apparently she was sitting at my dressing table and decided to try a new style she cut a big chunk out of the front, sort of like bangs. She then put the hair Ina little suitcase, pictured below. I will take her to see Claudia in the next few days to see about repairing it.

While Nell was at ballet camp Zaven, Esmé and I went to see Chris at the church and get the kids signed up for Vacation Bible School. Then we just walked around merchant square, got lunch at the Cheese Shop

After picking Nell up, we went by Matthew Whaley for Nell to have an assessment for Kindergarten. Then se went on a playdate. Esmé had a nap and I did laundry and Zav had some down time.
Tonight we did our Friday routine with Plaza Azteca and froyo because Chris and I have a dinner party tomorrow night and then Zaven is off to TN.

Smoothies and cupcakes!

So the smoothies are flowing here at the Eppersons. I decided a few weeks back to stop feeding the kids cereal and try to do smoothies and oatmeal for breakfast. I read reviews on smoothie makers and went to get one at Bed Bath and Beyond. I was armed with my 20% off coupon and prepared to pay about $60. Turns out the one I wanted was on clearance for $35 and they still let me use my coupon so $28 later I have a smoothie maker. We are experimenting with flavors and combos but so far it is a success.

However, we are not always do healthy for the balance of the day... Yesterday we stopped in to Extraordinary Cupcakes. Yum.

And after some cottage cheese at lunch, that she fed herself. Esmé was ready for a bath.

More puddle jumping

Late yesterday afternoon a series of thunderstorm came through dumping a ton of rain. Our back yard was one huge puddle. Zaven and Nell had a great time wading, then running then falling in it. Showers followed and off to bed.

Ballet and Tennis

This week we are doing a few new things. Nell is attending Ballet camp from 9-2 each day. So Zaven Esmé and I are left to fill the time.
Today Zaven did swim practice and the. We went and played tennis. It was fun. But boy was it hot.
Now Esmé is napping, Nell is home and I am trying to conjure the energy to keep the promise to myself of going to the YMCA today for some exercise.

The kids also had their last swim meet last night. They both did great and it was a fun win!
