well yesterday it was sunny and mild, like 50 here. so if it is 6 more weeks of winter like that, then i will take it!
chris had to go to an ordination yesterday, so the kids and i were on our own. we had a dance party in the morning then went in the backyard. where zaven had me put his training wheels back on his bike and he rode down the hill. nell sat on his old tricylce and really liked that. zaven and i played some soccer and then we decided to go to the yellow playground.
i had planned to call a couple of people that live close by and see if they wanted to join, but because the alternate name for the yellow playground is the windy playground, i thought it might be best to get there and be sure we could stay...then i did not have some of the numbers i thought i did. anyway, we did not call anyone, but lo and behold one of zaven's buddies, sophie, showed up with her brother and mom and dad. then two other families we knew, so it was a really nice time. we stayed until nell's nap time.
after nap it was time for the alive at five service and pot luck dinner at church. we had a good crowd of about 35. it was fun, as usual.
another point of excitement was a package that arrived unexpectedly in the mail.
a wonderful box of clothes from Blaise, Margo and Ginny from China. Zaven was thrilled. Nell was most excited by the skirt! They both wore their new clothes to church. Zaven has since slept in his and is making a plea to wear them to church this morning. Frankly, I don't see why not.
One of Nell's favorite things to do lately is to climb into "uncle brice's" chair, this is the look she will give the paparazzi when she is grown up and famous (for what i am not sure)
zaven also got a new shirt earlier in the day. a valentine's jolly roger.
we are excited for the super bowl.
i will be putting on our traditional super bowl party, just us. na beer, cheese dip, wings - the works.
prior to that it is more laundry, and if the weather cooperates another trip to the playground!
